In September 2015, The united nations general assembly adopted SGDS 2030 an agenda for sustainable development by the framework for international development. This agenda focuses on both economic and environmental sustainability including peaceful and inclusive societies.
The 2030 SDG agenda has a stand-alone goal of empowering girls and women through Genda Equality. Our Role as women and able hands is to educate women on the importance of these 17 SDGs and how they are affecting the lives of women and girls.
During our info sessions, we highlight different ways women and girls can get involved to make this agenda a reality in their lives. We believe that women are very key in helping the nation achieve these goals
Women make significant contributions in developing a nation. From contributing to daily incomes in their households to fight poverty to taking up leadership roles in their communities and the country at large. We seek to empower women in whatever position they hold to be ambassadors of the SDGs agenda.
To be able to solve the world’s biggest challenges, women and girls need to be students of sustainable development Goals and also be active participants in implementing these goals. In this training, Women and Able hands trainers explore issues in communities and together with the women take actions to solve these issues.
Once women and girls have an understanding of these SDG’s, they are inspired to make positive changes in their communities.
